Busy, busy, busy

Matters of the mind:

Research shows that we “mind talk” thousands of times a day, and most of it is negative. That’s a lot of stress, and the impact on our mind and body is quite toxic. Being mindful of this can help prevent us being skewered by the relentless barrage of our thoughts.

We are all busy and we tend to fill the gaps that occur in our lives with yet more stuff to do – most often for others. Sometimes we find ourselves overworked, overburdened, overwhelmed. As more layers of responsibility add to that pressure, we have stress, sometimes chaos. Over time, we have lost our ability to bring our mind back to a state of calm and our health suffers.

Meditation is about letting go, giving up control as we know it, in order to find a sense of peace. From this place we can find a different sense of control that will enable us to balance and harmonise all aspects of our daily lives – work, family, self, friends and community.

Calming the chaos

Matters of mindfulness:

Meditation grounds our awareness and provides us with the opportunity to refresh and re-energise our mind. It is about re-discovering the natural state of our mind. Meditation brings us to a state of inner calm, where we can find quietness, stillness, freedom and a sense of being at peace with the world. And it is from this place that we are at our best, both at work and in our personal relationships.
