My philosophy
I am a qualified meditation facilitator, having gained my qualification from the Nature Care College in Sydney. I believe learning and practising meditation should be simple and straightforward, demystified and without jargon. I have practised meditation daily for more than 30 years. It is easy to learn, can be practised wherever you are and will provide you with a clear, focused and calm mind to attend to the challenges in your life.
Benefits
Meditation is one of the simplest and most effective ways to lower stress levels, build self-esteem and confidence, regain balance and reclaim control over our busy lives. Meditation does not stop what is happening in your life that causes you stress, but it does allow you to step back and disengage from it. This disengagement allows you to rest and gain a sense of proportion over what is happening in your life. This sense of proportion brings balance back into your world. This balance brings you to a place of peace and calm, and it is from here that you can regain control over your life.
I will teach you a number of meditation techniques to use as and when it suits you. I conduct individual and group meditation sessions in Stanley, North East Victoria. Individual and Group sessions can be held in the workplace. If your interested please email me. I am happy to travel for teaching sessions in Wangaratta, Wodonga or Albury and surrounding townships.
Fees are $50 an hour for individuals with sessions generally lasting about one and half hours. Three or four sessions are the norm. Group fees are negotiable. See the information below on the 2010 Winter Workshops
Why not combine the benefits of meditation with the benefits of a weekend away? Beechworth has much to offer: stunning scenery, an historical journey through the goldfields and Ned Kelly country and extensive bike paths taking you on a pedal-to-plate experience through the area’s productive heartland visiting local vineyards, orchards and top-class restaurants. Meditate with me for two hours each day learning a skill that will enhance your day-to-day living and then set forth on an exploration of the area’s many other ‘treasures’. This link www.beechworth.com will help you.
Alternatively you can email me and I will give you my thoughts on where to stay, where to eat and places to visit, and learn meditation with me in the restful natural beauty of Stanley (10km from Beechworth). And if you live in the area you won’t have far to come. I look forward to hearing from you.
Winter Meditation Workshops
I will be conducting three two day group meditation workshops from 2-4pm at Stanley on Saturday 17 and 24 July, Saturday 14 and 21 August, and Saturday 11 and 18 September, 2010. You will learn the basics of meditation sufficient to maintain a regular practice and enjoy the benefits. The cost will be $100 for each 2 day workshop. The Beechworth Neighbourhood Centre winter semester of meditation teaching will be conducted in conjunction with these workshops. Workshops are limited to eight people and a minimum of three is required for the workshop to proceed.
